ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey
and Armenia will sign an agreement on establishment of diplomatic
relations on October 10.
As Associated Press reports, Erdogan said, in particular, that the
agreement will be signed by Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers,
however, it must be approved by the two countries’ parliaments to
take effect.
The document will be signed in Zurich by Armenian and Turkish foreign
ministers. Armenia and Turkey have agreed to start internal political
consultations around the "Protocol on Establishment of Diplomatic
Relations Between the Two Countries" and the "Protocol on Development
of Bilateral Relations" signed during the negotiations under the Swiss
mediation. It is scheduled to complete the political consultations
during six weeks, after which the two protocols will be signed and
submitted to the two countries’ parliaments for approval.
