EU supports Turkish- Armenian reconciliation, EU Special Representative
for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby stated in the course of his visit
to Baku. According to him, Europe’s position assumes no borders in
the region, Azerbaijani Trend News agency reports. "Therefore we are
ready to back Turkey-Armenia rapprochement," Semneby underlined.

As to whether the restoration of Armenian-Turkish relations and
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement are linked, Semneby said that EU
does not want to speculate on the connection of these two processes. He
expressed hope that Nagorno-Karabakh peace process will be finalized
following Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents’ meetings.
