EDWARD NALBANDIAN MEETS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF AMERICAN ARMENIAN COMMUNITY

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandian during his working visit to the U.S. had a number of
meetings with representatives of the American Armenian organizations.

During the reception organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church
American Eastern Coast Diocese Archbishop Khazhak Parsamian in the
primacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church American Esatern Coast in
the honor of the RA Foreign Minister, E. Nalbandian presented New
York and New Jersey Armenian community representatives with problems
in Armenia’s foreign policy and ways of their solution in detail
touching upon normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and Nagorno
Karabakh settlement.

At the meeting with Executive Director of the Armenian General
Benevolent Union (AGBU) Berch Setrakian the RA Foreign Minister
discussed issues regarding organization’s activity in Armenia and
Diaspora, preservation of Armenian identity and programs implemented
in the humanitarian sphere. The interlocutors exchanged thoughts over
the normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations.

E. Nalbandian also met with the leadership of the Armenian Assembly
of America and discussed issues related to Armenia-U.S. relations,
normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations and the latest
developments in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement negotiations.

According to a report by the RA Foreign Ministry Press and Information
Department, during the visit E. Nalbandian also met with Archbishop
Oshakan Choloyan, the National Leader of the American Eastern Coast
of the Catholicosate of the Great Cilician House. Issues regarding
normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations were discussed during
the talk.
