Armenian capital to celebrate its 2791st anniversary on October 11

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On October 11, Armenian capital is celebrating its
2791st anniversary. Yerevan Small Centre will be closed for
traffic. Singers from brother and partner towns will give concerts on
20 squares.
Yerevan-Erebuni festive program envisages two marches to Republic
square, one from Mayor’s office and the other – from ancient Erebuni
castle, Yerevan Municipality’s press service reports.
Different craftsmen will display their art in a `Town of Masters’ in
Northern Avenue, whereas Mashtots Avenue will turn into a sports
ground.
Festive program also includes a retro-car exhibition and concerts by
national minorities’ brass ensembles. Children will be entertained by
clowns, jugglers and heroes from famous fairytales.
In the evening, a musical firework will be displayed in Republican
Square.
Yerevan dates from 782 B.C., the year ancient Urartian town of Erebuni
was founded. Its ruins are situated on Arin Berd hill on the outskirts
of Yerevan. The town was founded by Urartian King Argishti.
