Parliamentary Coalition Appeals To Create Conditions For Finalizing

PARLIAMENTARY COALITION APPEALS TO CREATE CONDITIONS FOR FINALIZING ARMENIAN-TURKISH PROCESS

Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party and Rule of
Law (Orinats Yerkir) Party parliamentary factions circulated a joint
statement in parliament yesterday.

The statement says:

"These days we have all witnessed in Armenian-Turkish relations such
a process that was difficult to imagine just a few months ago. In
September 2008, the Armenian president’s initiative to establish
Armenian-Turkish relations to move the process ahead quickly fully
realized the outcome of the establishment process. The process
attracted the attention not only of Armenia and Turkey, but also of
the international community, returning to the international political
agenda the reasons for and consequences of connections with the
current issues in the Armenian-Turkish relations.

"It is clear that this process doesn’t mean forgetting the past or
putting the fact of Armenian Genocide to doubt. Not disregarding the
tragic pages of Armenia’s historic past, the Republic of Armenia shows
bravery dictated by responsibility towards the country’s future to
establish relations between the two countries.

"The presigned Protocols reflect Armenia’s position to establish
relations with Turkey without preconditions. The establishment of
relations not only doesn’t close any doors for the realization of our
pan-national aims and dreams, but also, on the contrary, creates new
working platforms and mechanisms and new opportunities.

"Our nation’s wisdom dictates that we be resolute in establishing
relations with Turkey. We welcome this policy calling all Armenian
citizens, political and non-governmental organizations and Armenians
all of over the world to create conditions to successfully finalize
the process."

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
