Thousands of American-Armenians took to the streets yesterday to
protest the visit of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, CBS Los
Angeles News reports.

Protesting the protocols leading to the establishment of diplomatic
ties with Turkey, the demonstrators gathered at 3 p.m. outside the
Beverly Hills Hilton where Mr. Sargsyan was to meet with community
leaders.

"We are all for open borders and open diplomatic relations with
Turkey," said Armenian National Committee of America member Stepan
Boyajian, adding, "But it can only happen with no preconditions…for
the dialogue to move forward."
