/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "It’s painful to see President ask foreign
police to protect him from his compatriots," Armenia’s ex-Foreign
Minister Alexander Arzumanyan told a news conference in Yerevan,
commenting upon Armenian community’s recent protests against
RA-Turkish Protocols. Armenian authorities, he said, should consider
Diaspora’s opinion on Armenian Genocide issue, but Armenian community
representatives are not entitled to set any claims to President
with regard to Armenian-Turkish rapprochement or border opening,
since the issue is to be resolved by Armenia.

Arzumanyan believes Serzh Sargsyan will do his best to maintain
power. To that end, he’ll even agree to signing Protocols even though
it may harm Armenia’s interests.

"From the first day of taking office, Serzh Sargsyan initiated
a process unfavorable for Armenia," ex-Foreign Minister noted,
adding that President would resign from post before the end of his
presidential term.

Commenting upon ARFD’s demand for FM Edward Nalbandyan’s resignation,
Arzumanyan said, "They might as well demand Agriculture Minister’s
resignation."
