/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Within the frames of EU-Armenia program, Armenia is
implementing a program on the development of specialized preliminary
and secondary-vocational education. Program should be implemented step
by step within 3 years, with a total budget comprising 15 million
Euros," Deputy Minister of Education Ara Avetisyan told today a
news conference.
Program implementation shall be supervised by a newly established
interagency commission which consists of Armenia’s business union
and trade union representatives.
Methodology and educational system shall be elaborated by a national
centre for the development of specialized education and training.
Within program frameworks , there are 12 secondary-vocational
educational institutions operating in Armenia, with 2 of them situated
in Yerevan and 2 others – in RA regions. Such educational institutions
can provide training on over 140 specializations, with 54 of them
matching new standards.
"The number of applicants is this year twice more in comparison
with last year. That means specialized education meets labor market
demands," Ara Avetisyan noted.
