Sweden will open the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and FYR
Macedonia will close the competition. The Host Country, Ukraine,
was drawn in 10th position. That was the result of the draw that
took place at the Blockbuster Entertainment Centre in Kyiv, earlier
today. Marietta and Timur Miroshnychenko hosted the draw event.

The other participating countries were drawn into two groups.

Georgia, Russia, Romania, Serbia and Armenia were drawn in the first
group, and will thus perform in the first half of the show. The
Netherlands, Malta, Belgium, Cyprus and Belarus were drawn in the
second group, and will thus perform in the second half.

Traditionally, the producers of the show will determine the remaining
part of the running order tonight. Tomorrow, Tuesday, at around
12:00 CET, JuniorEurovision.tv will exclusively reveal the complete
running order.

Stay tuned for more from the Junior Eurovision Song Contest from
Kyiv, Ukraine!

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
