ACCORDING TO UNOFFICIAL INFORMATION, RPA BOARD MEMBER ARTAK ZAKARIAN TO TAKE UP VACANT MANDATE IN RPA FACTION

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. According to unofficial information,
RPA Board member, Head of RA Ministry of Diaspora Staff Artak Zakarian
will take up vacant mandate in RPA faction in the future.
It should be mentioned that by RPA’s proportional system the mandate
has been officially vacant since October 12, according to the NA
protocol on pre-term stopping the deputy powers of Melik Gasparian
who died in an accident on October 8. According to the Electoral Code,
the mandate should be given to the candidate being next on the party’s
electoral roll. At the moment the next candidate is Emma Hakobian, who,
according to our information, is going to withdraw her candidature.
To recap, 3 mandates by the majority system are also vacant at present,
from Yerevan electoral districts N 8 and 10 and Kotayk region electoral
district N 25. By-elections at electoral districts N 8 and 25 are
fixed for December 6 and at electoral district N 10 will be fixed by a
decision to be made by the Central Electoral Commission in the future.
