/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Participants of the 5th International Children and
Youth Film Festival attended Gyumri, where Á brass was inaugurated
in memory of Edmond Keosayan. A street in the city’s new neighborhood
was also named after the prominent Armenian film director.

"Alexandropol, Leninakan, Gyumri… This city has always been the
heart of Armenia. It is no coincidence that one of the greatest
people in the world was born here. He could be a great man in any
occupation but, fortunately for us, he had chosen cinematography,"
film critic Armen Medvedev said.

Edmond Keosayan’s widow, Laura Gevorkyan thanked the city
administration, saying, "Edmond loved Gyumri and was proud of being
the son of the city. Now, I am proud to have a link to this wonderful
city."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
