TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER: "WE WILL NOT CHANGE OUR POSITION WHATEVER HAPPENS"

Baku – APA. "Our government and people do not make difference between
the Turkish and Azerbaijani flags. Both are Turkic flags and valuable
for us. Azerbaijani lands are holy for us and liberation of those lands
from the occupation is a prior of Turkey’s national issues. We will not
change our position whatever happens", Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet
Davutoglu said at a press conference in Ankara, APA reports. "The
mosque of martyrs and our flags were reposed trust in pride of
Azerbaijani people. We expect a respect for them. We believe that
they will be respected and necessary steps will be taken. They told us
that those measures are temporary and taken because of repair works".

Davutoglu said they wouldn’t allow attempt to seed of discord between
Azerbaijan and Turkey. "We know Azerbaijani people’s love to Turkey.

If despite all of our assurances made to Azerbaijan, the seed of
discord is continued, we believe that best respond to it will come
from our Azerbaijani brothers and compatriots. We raise the Karabakh
issue in all of our meetings. Prime Minister Erdogan’s meeting with
Barack Obama in Pittsburg was completely devoted to Karabakh issue. My
talks with Secretary Clinton also focused the liberation of Azerbaijani
lands. Turkey will continue this policy. Ending of occupation is our
official policy. This policy will not be changed. I believe that
Azerbaijani people will understand us. Everyone knows what we did
for Azerbaijan in the past and during the independence. We will do
more. I believe these processes will be resulted with the liberation
of Azerbaijani lands from the occupation. No one can doubt the Turkey’s
weight in the region and world".

The minister said gas talks were continued and he believed
it would be ended positively. "It is a trade issue. But the
Caspian-Anatolian-Europe pipeline is a strategic corridor for all
of us".

Davutoglu didn’t give concrete answer to the question about his
participation at the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization’s
ministerial meeting in Baku on October 22.
