YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
received today Aide to the Assistant US Secretary of State on
European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidenow. During the meeting the
sides discussed prospects of development of US-Armenian bilateral
relations, process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations and
issues relating to regional security.

Presidential press service told Armenpress that Serzh Sargsyan welcomed
the first visit of the US official to Armenia and congratulated on
assuming the new office.

The president said that Armenia highly underscores the
Armenian-American cooperation and is thankful to the US government for
the extended support to Armenia as well as for the efforts directed
toward establishment of peace and security in the region.

The interlocutors highlighted the progress registered in Armenia-Turkey
relations and pointed out that the establishment of relations must
take place without pre-conditions and in reasonable timeframe.

Armenian president said that Armenia is for such solution of issues
which will basically promote the stable peace and development.

The parties referred to the prospects of expansion of bilateral
cooperation and democratic process in our country. The US official
highlighted the notable progress registered in the democratization
process in Armenia.
