/PanARMENIAN.Net/ South Caucasian Railways (SCR) denied rumors on its
intentions to acquire freight carriages in Poland for Armenia-Turkey
railroad. "We were shocked by the news. There’s no need to purchase
carriages," South Caucasian Railways CJSC Director Sergey Shaydulin
told a news conference in Yerevan.
Such rumors, he said, testify to opposite party’s interest in searching
consumer market.
Information on Armenia’s intention to buy 120 locomotive carriages
from Poznan factory was released by media after Armenian Ambassador
Ashot Galoyan’s visit to the enterprise last week.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry denied the rumors accounting for diplomat’s
visit by the intention to strengthen ties, says a newspaper report. In
the meantime, an information source in RA Ministry of Transport and
Communication refrained from making comments, stating that "Russian
Railways might provide more precise information on diplomatic
carriages." The latter, however, refrained from comments too.
