Prof. Jirayr Kocharyan, the lecturer at Freie Universitat Berlin,
voiced concerns on Armenian Studies Dept. closing, reports Azg
newspaper.
Today Armenia’s Ministry of Diaspora issued a statement saying that
before the matter had been voiced to Armenian President Sargsyan who
ordered 2010 budget to allocate 7.769 million AMD to Armenology Dept.
at Freie Universitat Berlin.
"The budget in draft form is introduced to Armenian National Assembly,
and we have no doubts that it will be signed and the mentioned amount
will be sent to University. Apparently, Prof. Kocharyan doesn’t know
about latest development of the issue," the statement said.
