The Turkish foreign minister said in Baku on Thursday that Turkey
would not distinguish between Azerbaijani and Turkish territories,
reports Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajansi.

Davutoglu’s visit comes at a time when relations between the two
countries are somewhat strained.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey would not
differentiate between Azerbaijani and Turkish flags.

"Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity is as important as that of
Turkey’s, and it has a strategic priority for us," Davutoglu said.

"Nothing can change the fact that Turkey will always stand by
Azerbaijan, and Turkey’s position on Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity
and its territories under occupation," he said.

Azerbaijan, which has been uneasy about the recent rapprochement
between Turkey and Armenia, voiced concern and sought reassurance
from the government of Turkey that it would not reopen borders with
Armenia before a settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Davutoglu said Armenian-Turkey normalization would be robust only if
there was a comprehensive normalization in the region.

"From now on, Turkey will bring up Karabakh and settlement of
Azerbaijani-Armenian dispute in every occasion, even though Azerbaijan
will not do so," he also said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
