Fertility Rate in Armenia reaches its half, told journalists Ruben
Yeganyan, the ethnographer. Thus, 81.200 children were born in Armenia
in 1986, while only 32.200 babies – in 2002.

Fertility has been increasing in Armenia since 2002; however this is
not a sufficient indicator, says Ruben Yeganyan.

"We cannot avoid demographic decline in 35 years," he said.

Almost no one post-Soviet state has experienced such a strong downward
like Armenia has, says the ethnographer. Such a strong downward trend
in the fertility of Armenia is caused by migratory flows, he noted.
