IN MEMORIAM
ANTRANIG SARKISSIAN
May 29, 1937–October 22, 2009

It is with a deep sense of loss and sorrow that the Eastern Prelacy
of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America announces the passing of Antranig Sarkissian, a Pillar of the Prelacy, and a steadfast supporter of the
Armenian Church and nation. Mr. Sarkissian died yesterday, October 22. He was 72 years old.

The Wake will take place Sunday, October 25 at St. Sarkis Church in
Douglaston, New York from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will take place at St. Sarkis Church with the Prelate, Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan,
officiating on Monday, October 26 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Nassau Knolls in Port Washington, New York.

Mr. Sarkissian is survived by his wife Varsenne and daughters
Hasmig and Lorig and their families. He is also survived by his mother, Azadouhi, two brothers, Aram and Armenak and their families, three sisters,
Mari Ohanessian and family, and Margaret and Nairy Sarkissian.

At the time of his death, Mr. Sarkissian was Managing Director of
Citibank, N.A., New York. He was Group Marketing Executive responsible for the coordination of Citibank’s New York-based marketing activities for
Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, working closely with the Chairman, President and Chief Executive of Citibank, NA. His career
with Citibank spanned more than fifty years.

Mr. Sarkissian grew up in Egypt, graduated from the Kaloosdian National
School and subsequently attended the American University in Cairo where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He received a Masters
degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Sarkissian was a trustee of the Prelacy’s Endowment Fund for
many years, as well as a member of various Prelacy special events organizing committees, including pontifical visits and major cultural events. He
was also a supporter of many charitable organizations including his service as president of the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), and as treasurer
and a member of the Executive Board of the Near East Foundation.

New York 10010.
