ARMENIA, ITALY WILLING TO DEEPEN BILATERAL RELATIONS

Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan presented his credentials
to the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.

The Italian President noted that Armenia is an important partner for
Italy and the relations between the peoples of Armenia and Italy have
a history of millennia.

Ambassador Karapetyan, in turn, stressed the willingness of the
Armenian side to raise the relations with Italy to a new level. On
behalf of the Armenian President, Serzh Sargsyan, Ambassador Karapetyan
invited President Napolitano to visit Armenia.

Upon the request of the Italian President, Ruben Karapetyan presented
the latest developments in the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish
relations and the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

Wishing success to the Armenian Ambassador, President Napolitano
voiced hope that he would contribute to the deepening and development
of the Armenian-Italian relations.
