`EU-Eastern Partnership’ conception to be elaborated within six months

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ European Union and 6 post-Soviet countries have set
up a working group dealing with the elaboration of EURONEAST
(EU-Eastern Partnership) conception. Decision to create the group was
made on October 21 in Stockholm during a discussion on parliamentary
cooperation within `Eastern Partnership’ program.
Stockholm meeting was the first official forum devoted to the
mechanisms of creating an EURONEAST interparliamentary structure. On
the margins of discussions, there were also meetings between committee
chairs dealing with international affairs.
Working group consists of 12 EU parliamentarians and representatives
from 6 post-Soviet countries, including Belarus, Azzerbaijan, Ukraine,
Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, as well as 6 EU parliamentarians. Within
the coming six months, working group is to elaborate EURONEAST
conception and bring all principles and mechanisms of future
parliamentary cooperation in compliance with program objectives.
EU Eastern Partnership program was elaborated upon the initiative of
Poland and Sweden. It is aimed at establishing closer cooperation
between EU and six post-Soviet countries – Moldova, Ukraine,
Azerbaijan, Georgia Armenia and Belarus.
