ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT PREPARES LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL INSURANCE SYSTEM

ArmInfo. On October 29 the Armenian Government approved the amendments
to the law on income tax, according to which employers will pay 10
thsd AMD per month for the medical insurance of each employer.

The law comes into force on January 1, 2010. Armenian Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan pointed out that the law aims to form a legislative
field for medical insurance. "This will contribute to development
of medical insurance in Armenia on the one hand, and to provision of
high-quality medical services on the other hand",- the prime minister
said. He stressed the significance of the fact that the law will
allow forming mutual liabilities and contribute to improvement of
the healthcare system.
