Euro-Caucasian Cardiology Conference Kicks Off In Yerevan

EURO-CAUCASIAN CARDIOLOGY CONFERENCE KICKS OFF IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS: The two-day Euro-Caucasian Cardiology
conference kicked off today in Yerevan organized by the Armenian
Diaspora Ministry in collaboration with "Action Health Armenia-France"
organization.

About 100 cardiologists from Russia, France, Ukraine, Azerbaijan,
Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, and others participate in the conference.

Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan said the goal of the conference
is to reveal and combine the potential of world spread Armenian
cardiologists for the preservation of health of the Armenian people
and development of medicine in Armenia.

She said the conference will promote the cooperation between Armenian
and Diaspora cardiologists, increase the professional qualities
and improvement.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, highlighting the conduction
of the conference, noted that in the Armenian government’s strategy
health is being assessed as a sphere having a prior importance. The
government views health as an important engine force in respect of
Armenia’s perspective developments.

"We must form such an environment to be a regional health center.

Such like programs are already declared and within the framework
of private sector-state cooperation we are trying to implement this
strategy. It is not a secret that during the recent period we have
registered certain success in cardiology sphere and many patients
arrive in Armenia from the neighboring countries to pass treatment
here. It means we have the ability and must expand and strengthen it,"
the prime minister said.

Health Minister Harutyun Kushkyan said the cases of deaths from
cardiovascular diseases are in Armenia on the first place making about
the 54%. According to him, the conference is a good opportunity to
present the new approaches in cardiology sphere.

Chairman of the "Euro-Caucasian Congress of Cardiologists" Paul Baraga
noted that Armenian cardiologists registered serious success during the
recent years. "We too have something to learn from Armenian specialists
and this conference is a great opportunity to contact with each other,
exchange experience, present leading approaches," he said.
