PROSPEROUS ARMENIA PARTY WILL VOTE AGAINST PROTOCOLS RATIFICATION ONLY IN CASE OF PRECONDITIONS

Prosperous Armenia Party press spokesperson Khachik Galstyan
today reconfirmed his party’s position on the ratification of the
Armenian-Turkish Protocols while speaking with journalists today,
stating they’re not against ratification of the Protocols as they
are presently, since they really don’t see any preconditions.
Galstyan stated the possibility is not ruled out that Prosperous
Armenia Party votes against the Protocols ratification. And that,
according to him, may happen only if Turkey continues to speak on
the language of preconditions and delays the ratification.
The spokesperson didn’t rule out the possibility of coming out of the
coalition either. "For us there are two important points, speculation
on Nagorno-Karabakh and the issue of the Armenian Genocide. If these
two issues are made into preconditions and the Turkish side really
presents them as a precondition, we’ll vote against. And if necessary,
Mr. Tsarukyan stated, we’ll come out of the coalition, so that there’s
no problem here," Galstyan stated in particular.
