ARMENIA REDUCES EXPENSES ON DEFENSE

Under the 2010 state draft budget, expenses on RA defense will be
reduce by AMD 19bln compared with the same figure this year.
RA Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Safaryan told NEWS.am that defense
expenses-GDP ratio will remain unchanged — 3.5%. "Thus, there are
no changes in this regard, though certain reduction is registered in
total figures," he underlined. Safaryan stated that AMD 112bln will
be allocated to defense sector as compared to AMD 131bln in 2009.
