ArmInfo. Importance of recognizing the Armenian Genocide has never been
and will never be called into question, said Edward Nalbandian, Foreign
Minister of Armenia, in a press conference with his Byelorussian
counterpart Sergey Martinov on Friday.
The minister said Mass Media has never before reported on this topic
so intensively. However, the minister disagrees with the opinion
that there is general trend towards suspension of the process of
international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
As regards submission of the Resolution on Armenian Genocide to the
US Senate, Edward Nalbandian said Armenia has always welcomed the fact
of recognition of Armenian Genocide by the parliaments of other states.
The minister said that over 20 countries in the world have already
recognized the Armenian Genocide. "Recognition of the genocide is
important not only to Armenia and the Armenian people but also to
the humanity in general since it will help preventing such crimes
against humanity in future," the minister said.
