RUSSIA SUPPORTS END OF KARABAKH CONFLICT, SAYS MFA SPOKESPERSON

Russia is doing everything possible to bring about a settlement of the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
spokesperson Andrei Nesterenko on Tuesday, reports Azerbaijani news
source News.Az.

He was asked at a foreign ministry press briefing to comment on
Russia’s mediatory role in settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict
over the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"We are doing everything that depends on us to help all parties resolve
the problem in the interests of the people living in Nagorno-Karabakh,"
Nesterenko said.

"This is not a new problem. It has many facets, it is sensitive and
fraught with emotions and recollections of tragic events. For our
part, through our involvement in the negotiations process, we are
doing everything possible to achieve results…"
