Turkey is the most western state in the East and the most eastern
state of the West," Turkish Minister for EU Affairs Egemen Bagis told
in the interview with TRT TV channel. According to him, "Giving the
back to West, Turkey will be unable to progress in the East, while
otherwise it will fail to achieve progress in the West."
Bagis is confident that Turkey’s foreign policy is aimed at
transformation of the country into "center of the globe". Turkey
that is carrying out active foreign policy "rapidly moves forward
on the way to acquire a status of world power." In the frames of
prioritized foreign policy strategy "zero problems with neighbors",
Turkey undertook crucial steps in relations with Armenia, Syria and
Iraq. The country intends to open new landmark in the talks with EU by
this year end. "West acknowledges Turkey’s potential," considers Bagis.
