The mapping of the Armenian-Georgian border has been completed. The
delegation of Georgian cartographers and geodesists was due to
arrive in Yerevan today to adopt a joint map together with Armenian
counterparts. However, the Georgian delegation did not arrive in
Armenia today.
Head of the Media Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Armenia Tigran Balayan told Radiolur that today’s visit
was postponed at the request of the Georgian side.
According to Balayan, the Georgian specialists have declared they are
not ready for the demarcation works and will visit Yerevan December
7-9 to accept a joint map. Before that the cartographers and geodesists
of Armenia and Georgia have to compare and agree upon the two separate
maps in order to compile a joint one.
