YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: Chairman of NA Permanent Commission
on European Integration Affairs Naira Zohrabyan received today First
Aide of French Embassy in Armenia Christian Beck.

Media and Information Department of Armenian National Assembly told
Armenpress that welcoming the guest N. Zohrabyan highly assessed
Armenian-French political relations, and taking them into consideration
expressed hope that similar high-quality relations may be established
also in the sphere of economy. In regard to the issue on Armenia’s
integration to European Union, N. Zohrabyan attached importance to
the role and experience of France, as of one of the core countries
of EU and expressed hope that the cooperation in that sphere will be
much more active.

Once again putting the stress on the Armenian position on Nagorno
Karabakh regulation issue, the chairwoman of the commission highly
assessed the French efforts as the country’s chairing OSCE Minsk Group
in solving the conflict through peaceful negotiation process. Speaking
of Armenian-Turkish relations, N. Zohrabyan reaffirmed once again that
the regulation of Armenian-Turkish relations without preconditions is
a separate process and has no connection with NK conflict regulation,
which, according to her, Minsk Group co-chairs have stated for many
times, too.

Referring to the issues of regional cooperation Naira Zohrabyan
confirmed that Armenia is faithful to its adopted policy and is for
the regional cooperation on different issues despite the fact that
they are consistently hindered by neighbor Azerbaijan.

Expressing gratitude for reception First Council of French Embassy
in Armenia Christian Beck reaffirmed the French readiness to develop
the mutually beneficial relations. Issues on the further cooperation
were discussed as well.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
