YEREVAN, November 25, /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian
visited Grand Candy company Tuesday saying the government is interested
in raising its competitiveness.

Speaking to journalists after walking around the company he said the
number one task of the company is to improve its productivity and
become highly competitive.

"We are interested in this not only because the company employs some
2000 Armenian citizens, but also because it is a key Armenian company,’
he said to journalists.

The prime minister commended the company for using local products
for production of a wide variety of confectionaries, which he says
creates related jobs in agriculture and services sectors.

Grand Candy was founded in 2000 and shortly afterwards it became
the leading Armenian confectionary company producing 300 verities
of sweeties, candies, ice-cream, tarts, chocolates and so. It is the
only company in the South Caucasus which processes cocoa beans.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
