ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EDWARD NALBANDYAN AND TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER AHMED DAVUDOGHLU ARE TO MEET TODAY IN ATHENS

ATHENS, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: Within the framework of the OSCE
Ministerial Council today at 5.00 pm Yerevan time the meeting of
the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan and his Turkish
counterpart Ahmed Davudoghlu is expected to take place. Armenpress
correspondent reports from Athens that the meeting has been planned
with the request of the Turkish side. The two ministers will exchange
thoughts over the ratification of the protocols on normalization of
Armenian-Turkish relations.
The meeting will be followed by the meeting of the Russian Foreign
Minister Sergey Lavrov, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, US
Assistant Secretary of State James Steinberg with the Armenian Foreign
Minister Edward Nalbandyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar
Mammedyarov. The representatives of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairing
countries are expected to release a statement on the current round
of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict regulation.
Within the framework of the Ministerial Council the meeting of the
ministers of the CSTO member-states is expected to take place. It
has been previously declared that the CSTO ministers will come forth
with a joint statement with which they will support the initiative
of developing European Security Treaty. Few days ago such initiative
was forwarded by the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
Today Armenian minister is expected to meet with the foreign ministers
of Estonia, Greece and Slovakia.
The 17th session of the OSCE Ministers’ Committee kicked off today in
Athens. All the 56 states will possibly too adopt a statement about
the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
