ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT REVENUES IN JANUARY-OCTOBER FALL BY 13.7% TO 539.3 BILLION DRAMS

YEREVAN, December 2, /ARKA/. Armenian finance ministry said
government revenues in January-October fell by 13.7% (85.7 billion
Drams) year-on-year to 539.3 billion Drams. It said the government
collected only 60% of all revenues projected for the first ten months
of the year.
A statement by the ministry of finance said the government collected
421.3 billion Drams in taxes and customs dues, or 57.5% of the
projected target for the full-year. Some 201.5 billion Drams (47.9%
of the projected annual targets) were collected as VAT. VAT collection
rate dropped by 24.6% (65.7 billion Drams) from a year before.
Some 35 billion Drams were collected as excise taxes, proceeds from
profit taxes totaled 70.2 billion Drams, proceeds from income taxes
made 47.6 billion Drams; about 20 billion Drams were collected as
customs dues, 15.5 billion Drams as state dues, 19 billion Drams as
fixed taxes and 364.9 million Drams as simplified taxes.
The ministry said mandatory social insurance payments fell by 0.6%
or 463 million drams to 83.4 billion Drams (64.9% of the projected
figure).
In the same time span official transfers totaled 3 billion Drams and
31.7 billion Drams were collected as non-tax revenues.
Under the 2009 budget the government is to collect 905 billion Drams
and spend 945 billion Drams. ($1 – 385. 60 Drams).
