The Armenian and Azeri foreign ministers, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar
Mammadyarov, have discussed the possibility of adopting a statement
on Nagorno-Karabakh during a meeting of foreign ministers from OSCE
member-countries, which is due to start in Athens on Tuesday, the
Armenian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman told Interfax on Tuesday.

"The heads of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan met
over a working lunch in Athens. They discussed the possibility of
adopting a statement on Nagorno-Karabakh during the 17th session of
the OSCE Foreign Ministers’ Council," the spokesman said.

Prior to his meeting with Mammadyarov, Nalbandian met with co-
chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group Yury Merzlyakov, Bernard Fassier
and Robert Bradtke, as well as personal representative of the OSCE
chairperson-in-office Andrzej Kasprzyk.

The Armenian foreign minister also held a meeting with the OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly’s special representative on Nagorno-Karabakh
Goran Lennmarker to discuss the latest events as part of the conflict
settlement process, the spokesman said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
