ARMENIAN, AZERI MINISTERS DISCUSS POSSIBLE KARABAKH STATEMENT

The Armenian and Azeri foreign ministers, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar
Mammadyarov, have discussed the possibility of adopting a statement
on Nagorno-Karabakh during a meeting of foreign ministers from OSCE
member-countries, which is due to start in Athens on Tuesday, the
Armenian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The heads of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan met
over a working lunch in Athens. They discussed the possibility of
adopting a statement on Nagorno-Karabakh during the 17th session of
the OSCE Foreign Ministers’ Council," the spokesman said.
Prior to his meeting with Mammadyarov, Nalbandian met with co-
chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group Yury Merzlyakov, Bernard Fassier
and Robert Bradtke, as well as personal representative of the OSCE
chairperson-in-office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The Armenian foreign minister also held a meeting with the OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly’s special representative on Nagorno-Karabakh
Goran Lennmarker to discuss the latest events as part of the conflict
settlement process, the spokesman said.
