Demographer, head of the Armenian Social-Demographic Initiative
Ruben Yeganyan informed today that they shouldn’t wait for essential,
significant changes.
There will be certain changes but they will be conditioned not only
with our inner situation but also with the external conditions, how
the economic situation will be in the country where oru citizens tend
to live etc, said the speaker.
According to Yeganyan the number of the Armenian migrants who wish or
have the whish to leave the country is rather big too. It is something
else that becoming a citizen of other country becomes difficult.
The present situation of migration Yeganyan compared with 1990s. He
presented the result in lighter colors when the official data are
presented with smaller amounts than they really are.
The number of the temporary migrants makes a bigger amount during
which more than 10-15 thousands people are going out annually.
"Those people are our people, and it is not excluded that they will
return", – Ruben Yeganyan said adding that if they do not return and,
taking into consideration that they also have families they will take
their families with them.
