Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to
the United Nations addressed the hearings in the International Court
of Justice on the legality of Kosovo’s declaration of independence on

contrary to domestic laws of the country cannot be accepted as a
state.

Along with Azerbaijan, representative of Belarus Yelena Gritsenko also
supported Serbia.

Unlike them, Austrian representative underlined that Kosovo’s
declaration its independence is not contrary to international law.

The hearing will last till Dec. 11.

Representatives of 30 countries are expected to attend the hearing.

Representatives of Serbia and Kosovo were heard on Dec. 3.

Belgrade’s representative said the declaration of independence by the
provisional institutions of self-government of Kosovo contradicts the
international law.

Kosovo’s representative regarded the adoption of the declaration of
independence as the determination of Kosovo’s final status.

`The adoption of the declaration is the act to realize people’s right
of self-determination.’

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
