STUDENTS ARE NOT IN THE RISK GROUP, ARA BABLOYAN SAYS

The decision of the Minister of Education and Science to close up
the schools and kindergartens from December 8 to 19 is a common
practice for preventing an epidemic of flu, Chairman of the National
Assembly’s Standing Committee on Health Issues Ara Babloyan told a
press conference today.

The Minister’s decision does not apply to higher educational
establishments. "Students are not in the risk group," Ara Babloyan
said.

"They are not very inclined to catch the disease. That’s why we
primarily paid attention to schoolchildren. Besides, students do not
attend universities often on these days. Most of them are preparing
for the exams at home," he noted.
