THE ACADEMY AND 50 MILLION

A serious relationship seems to appear between the leadership of the
RA Academy of Sciences and the global economic crisis. Unfortunately,
this connection is not due to the inventions of the eminent Armenian
scientists and the non-eminent methods of combating the crisis,
but the state budget, in other words, legal wasting of its means. As
our reliable sources at the Ministry of Finances inform, this year,
in connection with the crisis, it is impossible to turn a blind eye
to illegal colossal waste of the budget (about 50 million), which are
deducted as premiums to already dead academicians and correspondent
members. According to our source, the president of the RA Academy of
Sciences Radik Martirosyan still tries to solve the problem pointing
out the RA government in particular the Armenian Ministry of Education
and Science with its unjustified expenditure and does not appeal to
the professional assistance of the Academy economist members.
