/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenia’s budget for 2010 does not resolve current
issues, ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP, economist Ara Nranyan stated.

As he noted in a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Armenian
government chose the easiest way by resolving to retain budget
expenditures on the same level. Major investments were attracted to
that end, yet no structural changes were registered in Armenia’s
economy.

Ara Nranyan joined in Dashnaktsutyun’s criticism of governmental policy.

”Supporting imports instead of local manufacturers, low economy
diversification level, attempts to develop economy thorough
construction sphere only are the reasons for the negative external
trade balance in Armenia.’

As the economist noted, Armenian Government is playing for time,
waiting for other countries to overcome the crisis, which, in its
turn, will positively affect Armenian economy. `Still, Armenia faces
major structural problems, which, unless resolved, will prevent the
economy from going back to the pre-crisis level.’

2010 state budget was ratified at Armenia’s National Assembly by the
majority of voices, though voted against by ARF Dashnaktsutyun and
Heritage parties.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
