PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS TO ‘ARMENIA’ SAILBOAT CREW AND CAPTAIN

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has issued a congratulatory address
to director of the Mesrop Masthtots expedition Zori Balayan, and
to the ‘Armenia’ sailboat crew and its captain Samvel Karapetyan,
announced the President of the Republic of Armenia press service.
The address reads:
"Dear friends,
"I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of the successful completion
of the first stage of your round-the-world tour aboard the ‘Armenia’
sailboat.
"It’s already been seven months that you’ve been sailing the seas and
oceans. During that time, for the first time in our nation’s history,
an Armenian sailboat crossed the Atlantic Ocean. "Passing through
the Panama Canal, you reached calm waters, paying a visit to our
compatriots in Los Angeles. You went to visit Armenian communities
in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, where you concluded the first stage
of your trip.
"It’s symbolic that the trip is being carried out under the name Mesrop
Mashtots, cherished by Armenians, with the noble mission of uniting
our compatriots around the world around our nation’s spiritual and
cultural heritage.
On this unprecedented sailing tour, I wish you successful continuation
and a safe return."
