MOSCOW, December 15 (Itar-Tass) – A visit by NATO’s Secretary-General
Anders Fogh Rasmussen to Russia may start cooperation between the
alliance and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO),
CSTO Secretary- General Nikolai Bordyuzha told reporters on Tuesday.

"I hope that the NATO secretary-general’s visit to Moscow will
allow him once again to pay attention to this issue, to get detailed
information about the CSTO and to take concrete steps to persuade
a number of countries that have so far blocked this process to
cooperate," he said.

According to the CSTO secretary-general, there has been no real
progress in cooperation between the two organizations yet.

"NATO has not contacted the CSTO over any issues so far, including
such a pressing one for the alliance as Afghanistan," Bordyuzha said.

The CSTO chief said he had no plans for a meeting with Rasmussen
during his visit to the Russian capital.

The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
