Turkey awaits its Constitutional Court verdict on dissolving Kurdish
`Democratic Society Party’. Yesterday, December 8, Turkish CC was
discussing the issue for 12 hours, however failed to adjudge, CNNturk
reports. The President of Constitutional Court Hasim Kilic said that
studying of the presented documents will take some time and the court
verdict will be due by December 11 the earliest.

As NEWS.am reported previously, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh
Rasmussen expressed concern over dissolving of Kurdish `Democratic
Society Party’ issue discussed in Turkish Constitutional Court. He
disapproves the wind up of the Kurdish party noting that it is
essential for democracy in Turkey.

Turkish General Prosecutor’s Office lodged a claim against dissolving
of Kurdish Democratic Society Party on November 16, 2007. The party is
accused of supporting Turkey rupturing actions. The statement claims
to renounce 221 party members of political activities’ right. 7 out of
11 members of Turkish CC should vote for the party to be dissolved.
