/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Innovative Teachers Forum (ITF) organized by
Microsoft Corporation kicked off in Yerevan on December 16. The goal
of the event is to make school educational process more interesting
and efficient.

The head of Partners in Learning initiative in Armenia, Christine
Genjyan said teachers from Yerevan and regions of Armenia showed
interest in the event. 19 innovative projects will be selected by
the jury. The winners will have the opportunity to take part in the
world competition of innovative teachers.

Microsoft will invest a total of almost $500 million worldwide over
the course of 10 years in Partners in Learning, an initiative that
provides technology access and training to teachers and administrators
to help ensure that students have the essential skills they need
to succeed. As part of this, Microsoft is extending its flagship
Partners in Learning into 10 additional countries: Albania, Armenia,
Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cyprus, Georgia, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro
and Uzbekistan. Partners in Learning focuses on three areas that have
the greatest potential to empower and transform education: Innovative
Schools, Innovative Teachers and Innovative Students, which aim to
encourage collaboration among educators worldwide on new approaches to
learning and provide students with access to programs and curriculum
that integrate technology into the learning process. Partners in
Learning has reached more than 130 million students and teachers
in 110 countries. More than 1.6 million teachers from 80 countries
participate in the Innovative Teachers Network. Earlier this year,
Partners in Learning announced that it will expand its Innovative
Schools program to reach more than 72,000 schools in 100 countries
by 2013.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
