ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EDWARD NALBANDYAN PARTICIPATED IN THE CONFERENCE OF FOREIGN MINISTERS OF MEMBER-STATES OF FRANCOPHONE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandyan, who is in Paris on a working visit, participated December
15 in the conference of foreign ministers of member-states of
Francophone International Organization.
Delegations from 70 member, associated and observing countries
participated at the ministerial meeting which took place within the
framework of 40th anniversary of creation of the organization.
Armenian Foreign Ministry Press and Information Department told
Armenpress that in the agenda of the ministerial meeting was the issue
on the process of implementation of decisions adopted at Quebec Summit
in October 2008.
Armenian foreign minister delivered a speech at the meeting.
Positively assessing the cooperation and conciliation of the member
states of the organization, Minister Nalbandyan pointed out that
Armenia is devoted to the values of the organization and will seek
active participation in the activity of Francophone.
In his speech Edward Nalbandyan presented the steps Armenia is
undertaking for the implementation of goals of the organization.
The Paris agenda of the minister also involved bilateral meetings.
At the meeting with the Director of Swiss Federal Department of Foreign
Affairs Michelin Calmy-Ray, the two parties expressed satisfaction for
the high level of political dialogue which creates an opportunity to
always follow the process of implementation of arrangements achieved
during previous meetings and point out new steps.
Edward Nalbandyan also met with the Foreign Minister of Morocco Fassi
Fihri. During the conversation the sides referred to the issues on
development of relations between Armenia and Morocco.
The two ministers exchanged thoughts over issues of Caucasian and
North African regions and over the ways of their solution, agreed to
conduct regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the
two countries. The foreign minister of Morocco invited his Armenian
counterpart to visit Rabat.
On the same day Edward Nalbandyan met with his Cambodian counterpart
Namhong Hor. The ministers exchanged thoughts over bilateral relations
and ways of forming economic cooperation lines. An arrangement has
been reached to activate bilateral contacts.
Within the framework of the visit to Paris Armenian foreign minister
met with the diplomatic consultant of French president Jan-David
Levit. The interlocutors discussed in details issues on consolidation
of Armenian-French friendly relations, referred to the wide-range of
international and regional issues.
Today the Armenian minister arrived back home.
