"There is nothing strange in Turkey’s discussions with Azerbaijan
about the signed protocols," said at today’s journalist meeting Chief
of Information Center of CNN Turk Ferhat Boratav.

"It’s like Armenia’s President Serge Sargsyan tried to talk into with
Diaspora in former times, the same way Turkey is trying to persuade
Azerbaijan. So far without success," said Ferhat Boratav.

Turkish Milliyet paper’s reporter, Kadri Gursel, said that regardless
of whether Turkey would persuade the Azerbaijan or not, Ankara has
its strong view on normalization of the relations with Armenia. "This
is not a result of any pressure. This is just the matter of good
neighborhood relations," he said. He added, Armenian-Turkish relations
are the part of the regional problems, and Azerbaijan as the region’s
state, should be involved in the process. Understand and accept this,
he said.

Meanwhile, when asked how they compare Azerbaijan with Armenia’s
Diaspora, the Turkish journalists avoided answering.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
