Iran’s mediation in the issue of the Karabakh conflict settlement
can be fruitful, Iranian journalist.

Iran’s mediation in the issue of the Karabakh conflict settlement
can be fruitful, said Burhan Heshmeti, director of the Azerbaijani
department of Iranian Seher channel.

Heshmeti said Iran has official ties both with Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"These two countries are historically linked with Iran, especially
Azerbaijan. Iran has repeatedly stated on different levels that
Karabakh is an Azerbaijani land. Iran also signed different documents
confirming Karabakh’s belonging to Azerbaijan. In this sense, Iran’s
involvement to the conflict settlement can be useful for Azerbaijan",
she said.

As for Iran’s position in case of war, he said Iran has always been
against war.

"Certainly, Iran will speak against the conflict on the official
level. Iran will always support justice. In the past 30 years Iran
has always spoken for justice and the same will be here", he said.

The Iranian expert also commented on the information about the incident
on the border between Iran and Iraq.

"Information about the alleged occupation of one of the oil wells
in Iraq by the Iranian armed forces is false. Iranian officials have
dismissed the reports. Yesterday the country’s leadership announced
that enemies want to cause damage to relations between Iran and Iraq
and that the countries should be ready to it. It is not the first time
that external forces want to sow enmity between Iran and Iraq. The
disputes on oil wells are still preserved but no capture was observed.

Official sources cannot confirm this. Iran and Iraq maintain good
relations at present", he said.
