PROCESS OF RATIFICATION OF THE TREATY BETWEEN ARMENIA AND TURKEY CAME TO A STANDSTILL

Turkey once again linked establishment of diplomatic relations with
Armenia with an issue of Karabakh. Armenia in response emphasized
need of participation of representatives of Karabakh in talks. The
process came to a standstill – the leader of the faction "Legacy"
of the Armenian parliament Stepan Safarian says.
"Until Turkey has ratified the treaty between Armenia and Turkey
neither Yerevan will do that. We demand the recognition of status of
Karabakh and its inclusion in negotiation process", – said Safarian.
In turn, Turkey does not make concessions and declares that until the
surrounding mountain areas of Karabakh are not returned to Azerbaijan,
the Armenian-Turkish border will not be opened – says the website
"Caucasian Knot".
