YEREVAN, DECEMBER 22, NOYAN TAPAN. Taking into consideration the fact
that Turkey delays ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols
the Armenian authorities should make harsher their position. Hakob
Avetikian, the Board Chairman of the Armenakan-Democratic Liberal
Party (ADLP), stated at a December 22 press conference. According
to him, ADLP is concerned with some points of the protocols and has
an apprehension that the process of international recognition of
the Armenian Genocide will be stopped in consequence of Turkey’s
diplomatic games.

ADLP Board Vice-Chairman Armen Manvelian, in his turn, said that in
order to carry on initiating policy the Armenian authorities should
join a number of conventions, in particular, the UN Convention on
Transit Trade of Land-locked States. Turkey is also a member of that
convention. Joining that convention, as A. Manvelian emphasized, will
give Armenia a possibility to demand from its neighboring countries
creating the best conditions for transit transportations.

According to ADLP Republican Board member Suren Sargsian, the mentioned
convention will give Armenia additional levers and will ensure an
outlet to the sea. And H. Avetikian added that if RA authorities’
goal is to run the blockade, its best way is to ratify the mentioned
convention. "Our diplomats just idle to attend to that issue," he said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
