YEREVAN, DECEMBER 24, NOYAN TAPAN. If the Armenian-Turkish protocols
receive a positive conclusion by the Constitutional Court, the RA
National Assembly will discuss the issue of their ratification only
after the Turkish parliament discusses the protocols and makes a
decision. RA NA Speaker, RPA member Hovik Abrahamian reported at a
December 24 press conference. According to him, the Armenian side
expects the Turkish parliament to ratify the protocols in reasonable
time constraints, without preconditions. Otherwise the Armenian side
will take steps adequate to those taken by Turkey.

Speaking about the statement neighboring country’s Foreign Minister
made the day before, according to which, the Armenian-Turkish
relations cannot be sound without the settlement of the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict H. Abrahamian said that he treats negatively
"each official’s statement of the kind." According to him, "it is not
honest" as the Presidents from the very start had agreed to establish
diplomatic relations without preconditions, which was stipulated by
the signed protocols. "In their speeches they try to link it with the
Nagorno Karabakh settlement or Genocide. I think it is an unfair step,"
he said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
