YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. A regular Azeri film on Khojalu
appeared in Internet where "hospitable and peace-loving" Azeris tell
about Khojalu’s "tragedy." According to the RA Defence Ministry
Information and Public Relations Department, there is much false
information and misrepresented facts in the regular Azeri propaganda
film.
For instance, quotations from a book by Zori Balayan are an impudent
falsehood. Zori Balayan declared this as far back as several months
ago mentioning that he has not written such a book. The film presented
that people flying off from Khojalu were shot near the Armenian village
of Nakhichevanik. This fact also does not correspond to reality as
in 1992 February the village of Nakhichevanik situated near Aghdam
was not under control of Armenian armed forces.
"The film finishes with a touching, heart-breaking music and
allegedly with photos of event’s eye-witnesses. In a 1-2 minutes’
search it is cleared up that one of the photos is a photo of
an injured Armenian child published in the Komsomolets Kuzbasa
newspaper’s 1991 December 5 issue and the article is called A Long
Way to Erkech. The electronic version of the mentioned article is
placed on the website, RA Defence Ministry’s
Information and Public Relations Department reported.
