The Turkish-Azerbaijani relations promote Turkey’s activeness in
Karabakh conflict settlement, said Azerbaijani deputy Asim Mollazade,
commenting on Turkey’s intensification in the Karabakh issue.
According to Mollazade, Turkey and Switzerland have signed an agreement
with Armenia on establishment of cooperation and, therefore, it needs
the release of the occupied Azerbaijani lands in the nearest future
for these agreements to come true.
"Peace and stability in the Caucasus are important for Turkey. I would
like to remind that earlier Turkey had negotiations in the United
States where Erdogan raised this issue while meeting Obama and tried
to get Washington’s support in this direction. The matter is that
if Armenians release the occupied Azerbaijani lands, it would have
become a stimulus for serious processes in the region and Turkey, by
taking part in this process, could raise its influence and contribute
to cooperation in the region", he said.
